Couvin (pronunciation: ​[ku.vɛ̃]; Walloon: Couvén) is a town and municipality (13,782 inhabitants end 2017) located in the Belgian province of Namur. Couvin is the second largest municipality of Belgium by surface area (207 km²), after Tournai.

The municipality consists of the following sub-municipalities: Couvin proper, Aublain, Boussu-en-Fagne, Brûly, Brûly-de-Pesche, Cul-des-Sarts, Dailly, Frasnes-lez-Couvin, Gonrieux, Mariembourg, Pesche, Petigny, Petite-Chapelle, and Presgaux.

Postal history before 1910[edit]

The MARIEMBOURG post office opened before 1830. It used a Perception code 81 and code 136 in 1857, and 239 with points before 1874. The COUVIN post office opened in 1835. It used a Perception code 30 (before 1864), and 89 with points before 1874. LE BRULY post office opened on 26 January 1859. It used a Distribution code 83 (before 1864), and 59 with points before 1874. CUL-DES-SARTS on 22 June 1876. AUBLAIN relay in 1898, FRASNES-LEZ-COUVIN in 1899.
