Announced each year as part of the Australia Day celebrations, the Australian Legends Award honours the contribution to our national identity made by famous Australians.
This year Australian artist, potter and printmaker Arthur Boyd, AC, OBE, has been recognised for his impressive contribution, through his art, to Australia's national heritage. In a career spanning more than 60 years, Arthur Boyd has cast his vision across a broad landscape of ideas and traditions, both real and mythological.

45c Nebuchadnezzar on Fire Falling over a Waterfall Stamp
The painting featured on the stamp design is Nebuchadnezzar on Fire Falling over a Waterfall c.1966-68. The painting is in the Art Gallery of New South Wales. Boyd depicted Nebuchadnezzar in many of his paintings.
