Note:
On 09 April 1241 came it to a clash (and battle) of the German-Polish and the Mongolian armies near the town Liegnitz (contemporary Polish "Legnica" or "Lehnice"). The depicted stamp motive originates from a miniature to this event in the "Schlackenwerther Codex" from the time around of 1300. The same miniature is also showed in the "Hedwig Codex" of the Manuscript LUDWIG XI.7 (Hediwg Codex) from 1353 of the "J.Paul Getty Museum", Los Angeles/Malibu (USA). (Meant is the Duke Ludwig I of Liegnitz and Brieg.) This miniature was painted in the style of the Gothic.
