The Brandenburg Gate in Berlin was constructed by Carl Gotthard Langhans from 1788 to 1791 at the Quaree which is the western end of the street "Unter den Linden". After WWII it became the symbol of unity and freedom in Germany. On October 3, 1990 it was the center of a public festival celebrating the reunification of Germany.
