Notes: Gerald Durrell (writer) founded the Wildlife Conservation Trust in Jersey in 1959; the Trust it worked as a partner in the Darwin Initiative (which has been sponsored by the UK government among others) to promote biodivdersity and environmental conservation projucts worldwide) and also operates a zoo on Jersey
