  • Notes. The Hornet under Master Commandant James Biddle had left New York for the South Atlantic in January 1815, unaware that a Peace treaty to end the war had been signed in Gent, Belgium. She encountered and captured, then set fire to, the Penguin on March 18, 1815 (British prisoners were taken to Salvador in Brazil)
